In my 17 years at the shelter, I can’t count how many times Mountain Veterinary Hospital has assisted the Whatcom Humane Society with cases beyond what the shelter has the resources to handle. Numerous dogs and cats still have all four legs thanks to Dr. Stone’s orthopedic work. But beyond the great technical expertise, what really makes this veterinary hospital stand out is how much they truly care for the welfare of animals. No matter how busy they are, when the shelter has an animal in need, they make time to help us with it. And it’s not just a quick procedure and done. The team follows up with diligent after care to give each patient the very best chance of full recovery, plus they often help find the animal a new home.
