Therapeutic Laser

Laser Therapy is an FDA approved method of treating injuries and conditions that cause chronic pain. It has been shown to help arthritis, joint pain, tendon and ligament injuries, wounds, muscle sprains, neck and back pain, hip dysplasia, and with healing after surgeries.

Research has shown that therapeutic lasers work by increasing energy production within cells, and by improving circulation, oxygen flow, and nutrient flow to damaged areas. These processes help reduce pain and swelling, relieve muscle spasms, improve joint flexibility, and accelerate the healing process.

Laser Therapy is often used in conjunction with other treatment modalities. The advantages of Laser therapy are that it is pain free and is non-invasive. Each treatment takes only a few minutes. Sometimes improvement will be seen after the first treatment, but it usually takes several treatments to start seeing results, and the treatment schedule will depend on the specific condition.

We use a Class IV Laser, manufactured by K-Laser. It is powerful enough to treat deep tissue and joint abnormalities in large dogs, but can also treat superficial conditions.
